When Verena van Vilsteren opened the doors to Zensakura, a tranquil guesthouse nestled in Borne, she wanted her guests to feel relaxed, welcomed, and informed without the usual back-and-forth that hosting often requires.

Like many hosts, Verena relied on handwritten notes, WhatsApp messages, and scattered documents to provide guests with WiFi details, house rules, local tips, and check-in info. It worked but it wasn’t ideal. That’s where Guestri came in.

One App, All the Essentials

With Guestri, we helped Verena bring everything together into one beautiful, easy-to-use guest app customized specifically for Zensakura.

Here’s what we built into her guest app:

  • WiFi & check-in instructions right at the top, so guests can settle in instantly

  • 🛠️ Detailed house utilities like how to use the wood stove, where to find the Nespresso machine, and more

  • 📍 Curated local recommendations including walking routes, nature spots, and dining tips

  • 📅 Upcoming public holidays & local events shown directly in the app

  • 🛏️ House rules and maximum guest capacity laid out clearly to avoid confusion

  • 💬 A guestbook for visitors to leave reviews and comments about their stay

  • 📞 Direct contact button to reach Verena during the stay

A Touch of Zen Even in the Details

We didn’t stop at the app. To help guests access it even more easily, we provided Verena with a custom wooden QR code sign, matching Zensakura’s peaceful and natural aesthetic. Guests simply scan the QR to open the app no downloads, no hassle.

Now, Verena spends less time answering repeat questions and more time focusing on the guest experience. Everything guests need is available right from their phones, beautifully presented and updated in real time via the Guestri dashboard.
